Tip to clean your Microwave It's easy to clean baked-on food and spills from your microwave Here's how: Partially fill a measuring or coffee cup with water and add a slice of lemon. Boil the water for a minute, and then leave the door closed and let the steam loosen the mess. After 10 minutes, open the door and wipe away the grime. Contact us

Tile That Looks Like Wood If you love wood but aren't crazy about the upkeep, check out these porcelain tiles from Daltile. Protect Your Floor During Remodeling Whenever you are remodeling, it's important to protect any un-carpeted floors from demolition debris and dropped tools. When canvas drop cloths aren't enough, I use 4 x 8 ft sheets of 1/8-in tempered hardboard, commonly called Masonite. Start by thoroughly vacuuming the floor so grit doesn't scratch the flooring under the hardwood. Then cut and lay down the hardboard and duct-tape the pieces together at the seams. If you'll be running the HVAC system during the remodel, be sure you don't cover grilles or registers. Finally, seal around the perimeter with masking tape so grit cant get underneath the hardboard at the edges. A sheet of 1/8-in hardboard cost about $5 at home center. Gary Wentz
